With the 14U-Perales team firing on all cylinders, Bob's team came out as the Champions of the tournament! The team went deep 8 times during the tourney and had come into the tournament batting an astounding .474 as a team! Outscoring their opponents 43-1 in pool play, the SJ Sting juggernaut had arrived. The combination of clutch hitting, great D and solid pitching, San Jose Sting 14U-Perales took home the prize! The road to victory had them beating the Batbusters twice, the second time in the Championship game, with a come from behind win of 4-3. Even Southwest Airlines was impressed, giving the 14U-Perales team a shout out on the flight back home!
Playing up in the Surf City 16U Tournament in Hemet last weekend, Sting 14U-Perales showed why his team is a contender. In a come from behind victory, Sting 14U-Perales beat the OC Batbusters 16U-Myers team 5-4 to adavnce to the championship game! Allie Walljasper pitched a gem and it was a total team effort with the offfense and defense, as the lead changed 6 times! Sting 14U-Perales went on to win the championship game by run ruling the So Cal Breakers!
Not resting on their laurels, Sting 14U-Perales particpated in the June Classic Showcase at Arnaiz park this past weekend. Outscoring their opponents 51-6, the Sting 14U-Perales team shut down every team they faced, with only 1 close game in the bunch, a tight 4-3 victory over Nevada Lightning. Andrea Reynoled and Allie Walljasper hit bombs over the fence, while the bats continued to be red hot for Lauryn Saunders, Kiersten Nordin and Dana Bouquet. Also contributing, were Jazmyn Jackson, Franchesca Perales and Iyana Hughes, all with OBP of .600 or more! On the defensive side, there were some notable plays by Lauren Cymrot, Destiny Benavides, Fatima Larios and Haley Nakamura; a total team effort to be sure!
The Sting 14u-Perales team took the championship in true to form fashion, by run ruling their unlucky opponent, 12-2. Congratulations 14U-Perales on 2 very competitive and hard played weekends!

On ESPN Rise, under the Heading Girls who Got Game - Kiersten Nordin (14U-Perales) was among select company, as she was mentioned for her hot bat this past week.
The promising Archbishop Mitty freshman went 4-for-5, including two homers, as the Monarchs won their final two games last weekend at the Watsonville tourney. Nordin also had seven RBIs on the day. Congratulations Kiersten!

The Righetti softball Best of the West Tournament is one of the premier tourneys in California with tough competition coming from all over California as well as Nevada and as far east as Kentucky.|
To be named to the All-Tournament team is a big deal and means you had a good week.
St. Joseph went 4-1, winning the consolation championship of the Gold Division and freshman infielder Dana Bouquet (14U-Perales) was a big part of the team’s success.
Bouquet went 6-for-13 with two doubles and a triple, scoring three runs and driving in two.
Bouquet added another honor Monday afternoon. She was named the female Athlete of the Week at the Northern Santa Barbara County Athletic Roundtable’s weekly luncheon at Giavanni’s Pizza in Orcutt.
“Thanks to my teammates for supporting me,” Bouquet said, “and the coaches have been doing a great job.” Dana is batting an astronomical .576 for her high school team!

The Livermore Stampede, a highly competitive softball tournament, featuring the top teams, concluded this weekend, with Archbishop Mitty having 4 players named to the All Tournament Team. The players selected are voted on by the Coaches from the teams represented in the tourney and 3 of the 4 players named to the team are from the San Jose Sting organization!

In a recent contest against Ynez Valley, St. Joseph's and Sting's own Dana Bouquet (14U-Perales-pictured below) went 3-for-3 with an RBI, to help the Knights stay unbeaten in league at 4-0 (9-1 overall).
In action earlier in the week, versus Lompoc, Dana went 4 for 4 with the game winning rbi, in a tight 2-1 win!

San Luis Obispo High freshman pitcher Andrea Reynolds (14U-Perales - pictured below) picked up her first career PAC 7 softball win as the Tigers claimed a 3-0 home victory over Paso Robles on Tuesday. Reynolds allowed just two hits while striking out seven in a complete-game effort.

Sylvia Llamas (18G-Smith),was seeing "3's" in Tuesdays (3-9-10) 10-1 victory over Wilcox High. Sylvia lead Arch Bishop MItty Monarchs by collecting 3 hits in 3 AB's, and scoring 3 RBI's including a triple in the win. She also scored 2 runs.
Ashley Chestnut (16U- Esquibel) played the number "2" by slugging 2 hits in 2 at bats with 2 RBI's.
Kiersten Nordin (14U-Perales) found "1" to be her lucky number as she had 1 official plate appearance with "1" triple knocking in a pair of RBI's.
